Some of our recent projects.

Big Bar Landslide

Rivertec played an invaluable role during the response phase, and construction phase at Big Bar Slide. We managed all things related to river travel and safety onsite. Being familiar with this dynamic location aloud us to give insight into water level predictions and other environmental factors associated with the project. Our job scope included: transporting crews to/from the worksite, swift water rescue standby, and river safety consulting.

Tough-Boom Installations

We recently completed two debris-boom installs in Powell River BC. The full spectrum of construction was done by our team including drilling and grouting the large anchor plates, pull testing, and launching and connecting the tough boom.

Geomorphology Studies

We have been assisting the geomorphology faculty of Simon Fraser University with studies of the Fraser on an annual basis for over 10 years. We’ve started off 2022 completing surveys in the Fraser Canyon, between Boston Bar and Yale, and look forward to a busy spring/summer of surveys ahead.

Wildfire Support

2021 was another doozy for forest fires in BC. Working with a wildfire contractor, we setup part of our fleet as firefighting boats using high pressure pumps and 2.5” monitors. We were staged near Revelstoke and Kamloops providing protection to industrial exposures from wildfires burning nearby.

Training

Another great year of training courses. Trans Mountain joined us again for our river boat handling and safety courses, and we worked with SXFN doing river safety training at Churn Creek BC.

Spill Response

Thankfully there weren’t many major spills in our territory this year. With a few callouts this year we were still able to get out and keep our spill response/ containment skills sharp.
